FOUNDER
Rose-Erin Stokes, MA, MTA

Welcome! My name is Rose-Erin Stokes, and I am a certified music therapist (MTA) and a graduate of Concordia University’s MA in Creative Arts Therapies (Music Therapy) program. I am excited to offer music therapy services in my home community of North Bay and surrounding areas!

Throughout my journey as a music therapist, I’ve had the opportunity to support individuals across a range of settings, including children, teens, and adults with developmental disabilities; older adults in long-term care and retirement homes; persons living with dementia; those in alternative school environments; individuals seeking bereavement support; and in community mental health settings.

With a background as a singer-songwriter and music educator, combined with my experience as a support worker and helping professional, I am passionate about the unique ways music therapy can support positive well-being and quality of life.

In my spare time, you might find me spending time in nature, hanging out with my pets, or writing songs.

Therapeutic Approach

I integrate a variety of approaches depending on the context and the needs of each individual. I personally strive to root all music therapy work in an anti-oppressive and neurodivergent affirming framework that carefully prioritizes each individual’s lived experience, strengths and unique skill set.

Why ‘Wintergreen’?

Wintergreen Music Therapy is fondly named after a forested area I frequented throughout my youth. It remains a place where I find solace and a sense of groundedness. These are the qualities that parallel the musical and supportive environment I aim to offer through Wintergreen Music Therapy.
